Geometry limitations PDE Toolbox

Dear community,
it looks like PDE Toolbox has quite some limitations when it comes to multi-object geometries, e.g. only concentrical or same-perimeter stacked objects. I need to model a more complex geometry with one part in touch with a second material, exchanging heat (see figure below). The second material generates heat (Internal heat source). Is there any way I can still use this toolbox for my case?

Create the geometries outside of MATLAB then import them in via importGeometry or geometryFromMesh
