Change variable precision used

Hi
IDK how I made this to my MATLAB, but it has changed to using only 4 precision digits, how can I fix it to its default which I think might be 32?
for example I get the following answers for these codes:
>>round(pi,9)
ans =
3.1416
>>round(0.55555,3)
ans =
0.5560

format long
or
format long g
You can also control the default that you get on startup, by going into Preferences
