Help with function reading a file

I want to query the user for what file they want to submit. Then I want the code to read the lines from AN18:AN11228 and K18:K11228 from the file that they enter then find the average of whatever numbers are within that criteria.
Here is what I have so far:
function [AGS,ALA]=BlosserD_Data20(File)
inputAGS=xlsread(File,'AN18:AN11228');
inputALA=xlsread(File,'K18:K11228');
AGS=mean(inputAGS);
ALA=mean(inputALA);
end
File=input('Enter file name: ')
[AGS,ALA] = BlosserD_Data20(File)
