working with excel in MATLAB code

Hi every one,
I am working on an excel file that I attach it, and I want to compare two columns of that file and check if the value of them and if they are not equals, return 1. The excel file is not regular and number of rows are variable in each section and some empty cells are between the two sections. Now I want to know that how can I do this?

Col1 == Col2 | (isnan(Col1) & isnan(Col2))

Or these days it often makes sense to use readtable() instead of xlsread()
