display compressed image from bitstream

hi,
i did image compression and i got the bit stream, now i want to go back and display my compressed image . Do you have any idea how to do this? can using recursive functions help me?

It has been proven that any for or while loop can be written in terms of recursion, so potentially using recursion could help you. However you would in practice want to know whether using recursion is more readable or efficient than using looping, and the answer to that is most commonly 'No'.
