Using GiGE Camera through USB-Ethernet adapter

Hi Guys,
Does anyone have any experiance with controlling a GiGE camera from a laptop through USB-Ethernet adapter? Could I use the camera with the GiGE toolbox when I am using such an adapter? (I know there are usb3 cameras, but we would prefere a GigeCam, and for mobility reseans sometimes would like to go from laptop)

I tried several USB to Ethernet adapters to run a GigE Vision camera from Basler. The one that worked best was the Microsoft USB Type-C to Ethernet and USB Type-A Adapter. I was able to view a 1920 x 1200 color image at 30 fps with no issues. I had bandwidth problems with other adapters. They seem to vary widely. You can find this adapter at:
