Getting fast_mpc code to not crash matlab when running examples.

Has anyone been able to run the examples found on https://stanford.edu/~boyd/fast_mpc/ without crashing matlab? I have seen other people's questions in relation to this code but so far, all I can find are people getting stuck with the matlab crashing part. I am trying to run this with Matlab R2019b and the Visual Studios 2019 as my compiler.
