How to export cell array to excel

I have a cell array, A = {'matlab' 'ver' 12},
When I export it to excel file, number 12 is text type, how to change the type to number instead of text?

A = {'matlab' 'ver' num2str(12)}; % actually no need of number to string conversion
writecell(A, 'filemname.xlsx');
