Our math teacher is forcing us to learn mathlab even if we (civil engineers) most probably will never use it. I think it'a a very powerful program and usefull for some but I have more important things to study for right now i. e. statics and I need someone to help me with this homework.

Are you sure that you'll never use MATLAB?

Here's a MATLAB based book, Wavelet Analysis in Civil Engineering. There's also Bayesian Methods for Structural Dynamics and Civil Engineering and An Engineer's Guide to MATLAB, 3e: with Applications from Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, and Civil Engineering.

If you have more important things to study, then you don't need to take this course either, as one of the requirements is you do the work. Unless, of course, you are willing to give us the name and e-mail address of your teacher, so we can send our solutions directly to them. Why bother with you as the intermediary?
