Simulation Domain (Region)?

I tried googling and looking around, but I'm not understanding when the professor is asking for the simulation domain (region) to be 100x100 (N_x = N_y = 100) with a change in x = 0.1. What does this mean in terms of MATLAB and how would I go about coding that? Sorry to be so vague; I've never heard of this.

I never heard of it either.
It would help to know the context. The only reference I found is 3.1.1 Defining a Simulation Domain that deals with semiconductor wafer design. From a MATLAB prespective, this would appear to be a 3D surface plotted with the surf function. I can’t get any closer that that.
When you find out exactly what your professor wants you to do with it, please post back here with the definition or explanation. I’d like to know.

May be, he is talking about x and y axes scaling
N_x =1:0.1:100;
N_y =1:0.1:100;

I would say what you want is the meshgrid function. Have a look at the documentation Using the variables your professor has provided you might do the following:
%Parameters
N_x = 100; %number of nodes
N_y = 100;
dx=0.1;
dy=0.1;
% domain
[X,Y]=meshgrid(0:dx:(N_x-1)*dx,0:dy:(N_y-1)*dy);
You can modify dx and dy for finer or coarser discretisation or increase/decrease the number of nodes along each axis with the N values.
