Deleting from a database

Hello everyone,
I want to delete specific rows from my database so I tried what was suggested here: https://uk.mathworks.com/help/database/ug/delete-data-from-databases.html
but I keep getting this error: Undefined function 'execute' for input arguments of type 'database.jdbc.connection'. I'm not sure what my next step should be.
Any insight would be appreciated
