Timeout error when downloading Matlab

Hi there,
I'm trying to install Matlab R2019 on Linux Mint using the installer for Linux.
The download usually works for a while, but after a while (while matlab is being downloaded, no additional packages yet)
it stops with a read timeout error (for different files each time). I have read the thread where turning off antivirus is suggested,
but since I don't use antivirus software that is not an option.
Hope someone can help me out;
