How to plot 2D Topography plot of a 3D dome shape plot resulted using surf function ?

Hi,
I am writing a code whose output is a 3D plot using surf command. My plot is
Side View Top View
I am trying to find out 2D topographical plot of this. As in the reported 2D top view, information is mssing. I want a topo plot which is supposed to look like

How should I plot 2d topo plot for this case ?
