n = 100 ;
x = 1:n ;
y = rand(size(x)) ;
% plot
plot(x,y)
lgd = ['ymax = ',num2str(max(y))] ;
legend(lgd)
Alternatively you can also use text. For this you have to specify the location where you want to display the value.
