Speeding up performance(multicore)

Hi, I have a script that includes a for loop that loads a file and processes it. The input files are rather big ASCII files. I need to speed up the performance somehow. I need to be able to match input files with results. I have a 12 core machine available so i thought of using parallel toolbox but I am not sure how to do that. Any help will be appreciated.
