Loading data from several subfolders

Hola mathworks community. I am struggling with a problem, perhaps someone on here can help?
I have a folder [the main folder] of 500 subfolders. Within these subfolders, there is another set of subfolders which contain seperate .xls files corresponding to a sample of a certain date. Total about 1000 xls files.
I would like to load and analyse all the xls files from all subfolders , direclty from the main folder without having to go in to them individually.
Is there away to do this?
