I've tried to start an evaluation, but when the download comes thru I'm offered the 64-bit edition of the product.
My version of Windows is their a 32-bit edition I can evaluate?

R2015b was the last 32 bit version. As that was nearly 5 years ago, trials for such an old version are not normally available.
You could ask.
But if I were Mathworks, I would probably say NO unless you were representing an organization that had a large number of machines that were locked to 32 bits For Very Good Reasons (e.g., there are military and astronautic cases where the regulations require locking in to old versions of software because that is what is validated and re-validation is very expensive.)

...you may not know that there are backwards-compatibility issues with the Matlab code itself, between 64 bit and 32 bit Matlab code, simply because Mathworks has changed the code as Matlab evolved.
Even if it's just analytical, no DAQ involved.
Be that as it may. Either vendors deliver compatible drivers going forward or they don't.
It does help to stick with industry-standard hardware interfaces but even that isn't a guarantee of backwards-compatbility. A great example is USB and Linux. If you provide support for the Matlab for Linux DAQ toolkit, you know all about this.

The market for 32 bit drivers is small, except for embedded devices (including Raspberry Pi and Arduino.) I would expect that Mathworks has analyzed the market and determined that they would lose money by supporting 32 bit MATLAB for Windows.
