dlmwriteでfilenemaeが1つのセルに反映されない

failename = uigetfile('*.mat');
a = 'result.csv';
C = cellstr(filename);
dlmwrite(a,C,'-append');
これでやっているのですが、matファイルでは、１つのセルで書き出されるのに、CSVファイルでは、ファイル名が、一つのセルに一つのアルファベットのようになってしまいます。どうしたら良いですか？
