How to fit a circle in the marked area of the image?

I want to fit a circle at the peak (the marked area) of the wavy surface. How can I do that?

If you fix the center C, radius R of the circle. You can plot circle using.
C = rand(1,2) ; % center of circle
R = 1. ; % Radius of the circle
th = linspace(0,2*pi) ;
x = C(1)+R*cos(th) ;
y = C(2)+R*sin(th) ;
plot(x,y) ;
