How to use Wavelet Transforms for template matching and location?

Please I am trying to find the extracted template image in the middle gotten from the original image on the left in the query image, the query image contains the same fingerprint, but has been translated and rotated, someone suggested wavelet transforms to me, but i don't know how that will do it, please how can I do this matching and location of the template, and if there is a better way to do it please tell me. Thank you
