3D voxel intersection volume and display in MATLAB

This is my first time dealing with voxel problem. I need to use digitalized voxel approach to calculate the removed material volume for each tool path during machining process.
Is there anyway I can voxelize the workpart and the tool? Calculate and visualize the results?

Use an industrial CT instrument, or else a 3D scanner like those where you place your object on a turntable and it spins around and you get a 3D model. But that's not a MATLAB question. Once you have your image, then you can do stuff in MATLAB with it.
