Increase of memory after saving size-reduced image

I am resizing video files.

however the video outputs have higher memory than origianl ones although makes them half spatio and half temporal.

writerObj.FrameRate = fr/2;
im=imresize(im,0.5);
writeVideo(writerObj, im);
