Exporting a Mesh Plot

Is there a way of exporting a mesh plot from Matlab so that it is rotatble in other programmes?
I've tried saving the file as a svd but this just seems to save a screenshot. By comparison, loading an svd file from other 3D rendering programmes do not have such difficulty.
