Plotting the time series river flow data

Hi, i have four files of data (river flow rate) have multiples rivers data (time series 1920 to 2012 for each river). How can i separate each river having data of all years (not necessary that each river has complete series of data) and needs to plot this data against year from 1920 to 2012. This plot will show the contunuity of yearly based data.
