I am a student and Matlab novice looking to use 2 vectors to determine a monthly mean. One vector is time (mtime 1:22529), and the other is a vector of 6 hourly water column means (meancoltemp 1:22529) sampled from a moored oceanographic lab.

I would like to determine the monthly means. The data starts 1st April 2002 and ends 1st September 2017.

As I say, I'm a novice - I have tried a few different methods suggested by my university advisor which have all been incompatible. Any help appreciated and if you need more info please just ask.

See retime(): https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/timetable.retime.html. For a more specific example, please attach a sample dataset.
