Create column vector with same length as a matrix(6x6).

So I'm wondering how you would create a column vector with the same length as a matrix (I'm using a 6x6 matrix) using the transpose oporator.
I have no idea how to do this so any advice would be much appreaciated.

Taking the question literally, one solution would be,
(1:6).'
but I feel there must be missing information.
