image subtraction in matlab

hi guys..
im currently dealing with matlab..and im doing the image subtraction..the problem is that when i used imsubtract in matlab the two pictures overlap each other...
what seems to be the problem? thank you

try result = imsubtract(image1,image2); imshow(result,[ ])
