calling a GUI function inside a IF statement

i have to call a function when the if statement s satisfied. but when i call a function inside the function it shows a error underscore stating that "FUNCTION keyword use is invalid here.this will cause later message about error"
if passx == [0; 0; 0; 0]
if passy == [0; 0; 0; 0]
%function xxxx
else
disp('no name')
end
end
So experts pl help me out.

Use
if isequal(passx ,[0; 0; 0; 0])
Post the function that causes an error and how did you call it?
