how to create center-justified table elments

I am trying to make a table in a plot with numbers and text as elements. At this point, I can make the table appear with the numbers but not the text. I can make single characters appear in the table, which would be OK, but these are left justified. The numbers are right-justified. I want everything to be center-justified. How do I do it? I have spent a lot of time going through the documentation with no success.

When you say you're "trying to make a table in a plot" I assume you're referring to uitable? If so, you can use uistyle to determine text alignment.
