matlab 2008 won't open

Hi I recently updated Java on my mac osx 10.7 and since then can't open matlab 2008. is there a solution to fix it This is part of the message: Application Specific Information: abort() called objc[847]: garbage collection is OFF
Java information: Exception type: Bus Error (0xa) at pc=000000000a8ba4fc
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can anybody help, please?

Thanks, but can I just uninstall java 7 and install java6?
