Temperatur detecting fron a thermal images

Dear Image Analyst,
i am working with one multispectral camera which has 6 bands,(blue, green, red, nir, rededg and thermal , in order) All images are in grayscale and .tif format I want to know how can i detection animals or fire with help the thermal band in matlab.
i am trying to run your code for thermal images processing withe my thermal image, but i become always an error:
Index in position 1 exceeds array bounds (must not exceed 120).
you have already asked me to attach the code and the image.
can you please help me.
thank you.

could you please give me the literatur or where you found this formel
"thermalImage = lowTemp + (highTemp - lowTemp) * mat2gray(indexedImage);"
thanks in advance

Look at these lines of code:
imageRow1 = 40;
imageRow2 = 298;
imageCol1 = 20;
imageCol2 = 460;
% Crop off the surrounding clutter to get the RGB image.
rgbImage = originalRGBImage(imageRow1 : imageRow2, imageCol1 : imageCol2, :);
Your image—at least the png you provided—is smaller than the rows/cols you wish to extract:
size(originalRGBImage)
ans =
120 160
