I am trying to accuratly model noise in my system for my specific sensor and setup. I wanted to know if it is possible to use FFT data to recreate the signature of noise in a signal. For example, I have created this FFT that simulates the specific sensor noise in my setup. Lets say I have a motor that creates a lot of noise at 160Hz.

So now I have the noise signature from my sesnor that I was able to obtain through testing. I want to appy this specific type of noise onto a signal that comes from my plant model in simulink. Is it possible (and does it make sense) to do this.

hello

with simulink you can easily re-create a sine wave + a bit of random noise (if really needed ?) to generate your perturbation noise. there is no need to do a fft in the simulink file for what you intend to do
