How to display serial data

Hello all,

I am having an issue receiving serial data and I am not sure where the problem is. I have an FTDI connected to the USB port of my PC and the FTDI is recieving constant RF signal from an RF receiver. This is the code I have so far, but no data is being displayed in the command window. I appreciate any help!
