Transfer Function and step response

Hello,
I am trying to find the transfer function and step response of a simple function. Whenver I try and use the "tf(num,den)" I get an error code saying it is an "Unrecognized function or variable 'tf'." I get a similar response with the step function. Is there another package I need to install inorder for these functions to work properly?

You need the the Control System Toolbox.
