Update matlab compiled app

I have "developped" an matlab app for my colleagues and I'm the only one having Matlab licences.
I have compiled the project using compiler and it works reasonably fine.
Now I need to update the app to add some functionality. How can I build installer that overwrites the existing files with new instalation? So far the installers instal new app next to the older one.

You cannot exactly "update" the app to add some functionality. Sending out a new executable is far safer. You can find ways to simplify this process here.
