Arduino Engineering Kit - UI difficulty

I am trying to self-learn the curriculum. I want to work on the balancing motorcycle, but I am having difficulty navigating the UI. When I open what I assume will be CAD files, all I get are lines of code. And, I can't seem to find Coursework to follow, which corresponds to all of the files containing the folders of code. Is there a practical UI, which lends itself to easy learning of this material? I only have 20 days (of the original 30 days trial) to get something worthwhile from the experience. Otherwise, it isn't cost-effective for me to purchase a license. Thanks!!
