That error comes up whenever you try to combine vectors of incorrect sizes.
You claim to have 6 vectors to combine, but your example code has 8 components - 2 of these are probably the wrong size

a1=[1 2 3]
a2=[4 5 6]
a3=[7 8 9]
out=[a1;a2;a3]
There is no reason to get an error, unless your array are not the same size
