How to use chebop function?

When I try to input
>> a = chebop(-1,1);
the result was:
Undefined function 'chebop' for input arguments of type 'double'.
I'm working on windows 32 bit, and no result when searching for the function "chebop" in help.
I do not understand the problem?

Have you installed the chebfun package? Have you added the chebfun install directory to the matlab-path?
If you have it installed but not on the matlab-path try something like this:
chebfunroot = '/home/bjorn/matlab/Local/Numerics/chebfun-master'; % for my case
addpath(chebfunroot)
If it is not installed install the toolbox first...
