Is the Distributed Computing toolkit included in the Parallel Computing module or do you have to purchase it separately?

If you are referring to Distributed Computing Server, this is a separate product:
http://www.mathworks.com/products/distriben/
Just to make sure that there are no confusions, Parallel Computing Toolbox went through a name change in the past. Something to keep in mind if you are using a really old version of MATLAB:
http://www.mathworks.com/help/distcomp/release-notes.html#brf5dui
