there are alrady built in matlab random generator functions like rand or randn
you want to create your own generator like a PRBS ?

are you thinking about a maximum length sequence? meaning a binary pseudorandom sequence?

PRBS = @(N) randi([0 1], 1, N);
This takes one parameter, which is the number of values to generate, and returns a PRBS of that length.
