Select a specific column from a 4-D array

Hello guys i want to select the first row from my 4-D array to calculate something else.
x(nf,nb1,nb2,:) is the array
I thought about
Test=x(:);
To get the first row in a new Vector
It gives me a new Vector. Is this correct?
