Need to declare and access a Java Generic Variable in Matlab!

I want to declare and access a Java Generic type (it's an avro command) SpecificDatumWriter<User> userDatumWriter = new SpecificDatumWriter<User>(User.class); in MATLAB. I can declare normal java variables - but am having trouble with this java declaration in MATLAB. Any help?
Here SpecificDatumWriter is a special function of the avro package, and User.class is a custom class (built with avro sepcifications).
