Stack multiple 2D images to single image

Hi,
I have multiple 2D images as attached here (e.g. S0001.bmp; S00002.bmp; S00003.bmp). I intend to stack these images at different Z positions to get the attached desired image.
My 2D images are the output of imagesc () in matlab
