stress tensor diagonalization

Hello, I've got to obtain the eigenvectors of a stress tensor that is a 3x3 symmetric matrix. The tensor has this form: [sigmax,0,taurz;0,sigmay,0;taurz,0,sigmazz]; I was wandering if I should use eig() or eigs() to diagonalize to obtain the eigenvectors. eigs() is for sparse matrices, and never for extracting all of the eigenvectors (if you try, it will tell you to use eig() )
