Using the MATLAB engine with C++

I am using the MATLAB engine in my C++ code to read an excel file. I am making this C++ code into an executable file and placing it on a file server. I know that in order to run the executable I am going to need to install MATLAB. But, where do I install MATLAB? Would it be on the file server? And does installing MATLAB take care of all of the dependencies or do I also need to place some .dll files on the file server as well?

Any feedback that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
