How 'normalization by standard deviation' works?

- Can anyone please explain how normalization by standard deviation (ie. b = normalize(a, 'scale')) works internally?
- Is it b = (a - mean(a)) ./ std(a) ?
- Is n or (n-1) used in calculations? (n is the data size)

Read the help and documentation of normalize to find out. If that information is lacking you can "read the code, Luke"...
