Hi,

Is it possible to make a part of the image transparent in matlab? Is there any specific function in the Image processing toolbox?

Every image object has an AlphaData property. There is no specific function to set this, but you can use set().

If you display the image using image() or imagesc() then you can add an 'AlphaData' option to the call,

image(YourImage,'AlphaData',TheAlphaValues)

Alpha values range from 0 (completely transparent) to 1 (completely opaque)

PNG and GIF files both support transparency, the doc explains how to set it.
