How to read text block from live script?

Does Matlab have functions to parse an mlx file, or parse the current open live script?
This is what I would like to do:
  1. Create a text block in a livescript
  2. Read the contents of that text block to a string variable within the same live script
Is something like this possible?

To the best of my knowledge, this is not possible. One workaround may be to use an edit field in one of your code blocks.

Thanks you. I was aware of edit fields, but you can't enter multiline text that way – this is the limitation I was trying to get around.
