Changing imported variable names

I have a program which imports data into MATLAB in a long list of variables. Unfortunately the creators of this program didn't consider how MATLAB ranks variables and so I will get a list like: ...1... ...10... ...11... ...19... ...2... ...20... ( where ...1... should be followed by ...2...) and so on. Is there any way to insert a 0? Cheers
