how to do optimize decision trees using genetic algorithm?

hi every body,
I want to use genetic algorithm to optimize decision trees for my master thesis. I wrote a code to construct a population of trees but I don't know how can I implement crossover and mutation on them. for example, I want to switch a node of a tree and its siblings with another tree. I found that I should use object oriented programming in matlab. can anyone help me, how?
